Account migration (Resolved)

  • We will be performing account migration from our Aurora Shared Hosting server over to a new server that has just been set up. This will take place over the course of the day and may render some of the websites hosted on this server unavailable for a short period of time. In order to avoid extended downtime, customers are asked to set the nameservers for any domain hosted on this server to ns1.sharkservers.co.uk and ns2.sharkservers.co.uk if currently using Cloudflare or any other CDN. This is to avoid downtime due to an IP change for the domain(s).

    The migration is taking place due to dissatisfaction with the performance of the datacenter currently hosting this server. As a result, we will be moving all accounts to our private datacenter.

Connectivity issues affecting a few VPS serve (Resolved)

  • We are working to resolve a shared storage problem that has affected a few VPS systems. This particular shared storage is holding data for about 10 virtual servers, as well as our OpenVZ control node. As long as the storage is inaccessible, we are not able to provide management capabilities for OpenVZ plans (reboot, reinstall, etc), and also a few Windows VPS can not be accessed. 

    Rest assured that we are working tirelessly to resolve the storage issue and bring everything back to normal. However, please also be aware that this is a very delicate process and care must be taken to avoid losing any data. This is why we are working with data recovery company to help us to get everything back, and eventually bring the affected services back online. Sadly, as is common with such disasters, it is not possible to predict the time when the services will be restored. However, we have been assured that data is recoverable - it just takes time to do that. Again, we're working 24/7 to get this fixed as soon as possible and would like to apologize to the affected customers for the downtime. We will also be issuing credit to those affected once the issue has been fixed.
